Monster SoundStage S1 review

Ever since Monster lost its lucrative Beats contract, the company has seemingly struggled to find the "next big thing" to replace it. After several years of gaudy headphones and disappointing Bluetooth speakers , has the company finally struck paydirt...

The Monster SoundStage S1 is a compact wireless speaker with plenty of bass and treble. It offers a great number of connectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and optical, plus compatibility with Spotify, Internet radio and all manner of digital...

Its recessed midrange and hyped bass/treble sound makes it a poor choice for folk and rock music. Its competitors sound more laid back and easier to listen to long term. High-resolution files can be prone to dropouts, and the app required for control...

We've had the chance to look at a few pairs of Monster headphones recently, but headphones aren't the only thing that Monster has going on these days. They've recently released the Monster Soundstage series, a set of wireless speakers with quite a few...

This is a solid and attractive speaker. There are many ways to connect to stream your music. The Soundstage S1 definitely pumps out big sound

I had issues with several of the connection options, and was not able to connect via the Soundstage app on my Nexus 5. This may be an issue with the phone more than the speaker though. Sound was missing some of the mid-range, causing some tracks to...

Connection issues aside, this is a quality speaker from Monster. This is a perfect speaker for parties, or other events with a lot of people. The S1 can easily fill a room with sound.
