14-05-2009
Stockholm, Sweden May 14, 2009 -- alaTest™, a provider of consumer product quality information, announced today the launch of its Japanese site at (http://alatest.jp).

alaTest™ supports consumers in their buying decisions by providing product quality information in the form of summarized and structured reviews. The information is collected from over 1,200 professional sources and presented on the alaTest sites and across a network of ecommerce partner sites reaching 300 million internet users.

The launch of the alaTest Japan site is the first step in reaching the Japanese consumer. CEO and founder Arie Struik says, “The Japanese consumer is probably second to none in the world, when it comes to curiosity about new products.

We provide Japanese review content and analysis on our own and on partner websites. alaTest aims to be a useful tool for Japanese consumers, in the search for the products that best suit their needs.

Our goal is to build a network of ecommerce partners in Japan similar to the existing network of price comparison, shopping and manufacturer sites in Europe and the U.S.”

With the launch of the Japanese site, alaTest has 16 country web sites with local review content in 18 languages.

alaTest will also include the Japanese reviews in the calculation of its global measure of product quality, the alaScore™. A summary of the reviews and corresponding alaScore™ is available on the Japanese site and selected ecommerce partner sites.
