Dissidia 012 [Duodecim]: Final Fantasy – PSP Review

Dissidia 012 [Duodecim]: Final Fantasy – PSP ReviewPosted on June 17, 2011 | No CommentsDissidia 012 is the sequel to 2009's FF 'Beat Em Up', but does it surpass the original game?

And with this the conclusion I’ve come to with Dissidia 012 [Duodecim]: Final Fantasy is that much like its predecessor, this is a game made for true fans. Though any PSP owner can enjoy the explosive combat and impressive graphics, those who aren't...

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Review

A sequel that doesn't rock the boat too much, but builds well upon its predecessor.

I may be sounding a little picky about the storyline, but regardless, it’s still well done, and miles above other fighters. As for the rest of the game, it’s pretty much more of the same with some excellent additions and tons of new content. You can...

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy

As bizarre as that title looks, it?s not really symbolic.? Dissidia 012 is just the prequel to the original Dissidia, which brought Final Fantasy protagonists together in one big fighting fan service throwdown.? It wasn?t a triumph among fighting games...

Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy Dissidia for the PSP was Square Enix's love letter to its fans who eagerly wanted to assume the role of a Final Fantasy hero or villain in a game that features the ageless fight between good and evil. Released in 2009, the game was met...

Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy is a better game than the original with its refined gameplay mechanics and battle system. Though the story leaves much to be desired, Square has addressed many of the problems from the original game by giving fans...

Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy

I am not sure how much more naval gazing the Final Fantasy franchise can take. Final Fantasy XIII looked amazing, but barely bothered to remember that people occasionally like to play games between watching intricately animated cut scenes. When...

Engine is a unique take on fighting, still feels fresh and kinetic ; Game looks great ; New characters

Story gets a little convoluted ; Not enough new material to justify an entire new game ; New RPG mode end up missing the mark to make the action more accessible

To be fair, Dissidia is still a decent game. What it lacks in originality it does make up for in addictiveness. I really like the gameplay style, but I think that’s going to miss the mark with the intended audience. Though there are fighting game fans...

Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantas..

Hey, you got a hardcore RPG in my fighting game!

clever fighting system; great graphics; long-term RPG; lots of Final Fantasy fan service

mandatory grinding; lots of Final Fantasy fan service

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy

If there is something that over the years Square Enix has absolutely nailed down, it's that they know how to put on a good show. They'll give you plenty of bright colors, lots of explosions, people pausing for dramatic effect, and wild character...

If the ridiculous title doesn't turn you off to this game, perhaps the weak story or monotonous gameplay will.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy

It has been a long time since I've played an RPG just for the music. While I can't say that Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy is one of those games, it most certainly could have been. Featuring a breathtaking collection of remixed (and most likely remastered)...

Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy Review

We've been through all this before.

A few minor improvements

But pretty much the same as the last game; Two battlefields? WTF?; Way too repetitious; Everything is repetitive; A repeat of a repetitious game

Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy

Square-Enix's Dissidia: Final Fantasy was the true definition of appeasing their hard-core fans. It's a tossed salad of memorable pieces from previous Final Fantasy games and the end result was a mash-up RPG/Fighter that was regarded as either a...

Lengthy campaign ; New characters offer something different ; Outstanding visuals ; Assists are a nice inclusions

but little else has improved with the combat ; Requires a lot of grinding ; Inconsistent AI ; Extremely weak story ; Camera issues persist

Essentially, depending on how a person viewed Dissidia, that same opinion will hold over for Dissidia 012. Those hoping that issues regarding the combat and the camera had been solved will be sorely disappointed. On the other hand, if you were content...
